Testimonials

"First a big thank you to you and your staff at the Christian rehab. It saved my husband's life and has ended up bringing our entire family closer together. It proved more difficult than I ever could have imagined to find a Christian rehab. It seemed so many other rehabs said they were Christ centered, but upon further investigation, it was just a marketing scheme. I m happy to say your rehab restored my husband's faith along with blessing him with his sobriety."
Ann B., Cleveland, Ohio

"I am now sober for eight months and active in church again. Who would ever have thought I could do it. I was so scared, but you made my detox comfortable, could always have used more medication though, just a joke. I am attending Christian counseling two times a week and it really helps. Again thanks, taking it one day at a time!"
Brad C., Jacksonville, Florida

"My son's life was a mess. He had been arrested twice for DUI's and was only getting worse each and every day. If it wasn't for your treatment center, I can't imagine where he would have ended up. I would recommend your Christian rehab, as he calls it, to anyone."
Beverly W., Omaha, Nebraska

"A Christian drug rehab, who would have thought I would have ever ended up there. Although when I took a look at my college studies it was clear I majored in opiates and alcohol. As you can tell, I have regained my sense of humor, am back in school and have put together six months of continued sobriety. I just wanted to say thanks."
George H., Knoxville, Tennessee

Drug Detox

Drug detox, or drug detoxification, is a process in which a person abusing or addicted to a substance stops using that substance in a controlled medical environment. A drug detox program is the first step in drug rehabilitation, and allows the substance to safely be removed from the body while managing the associated withdrawal symptoms.

A medically-assisted detox is the safest and most effective way to stop using drugs. Because this process is medically supervised by a licensed physician, the physical complications from drug use, strong withdrawal symptoms and other concerns can be addressed and treated.

For some, entering a detox program can be a fearful experience. At A New Life Recovery Center at Lakeview Health Systems, the program at our Christian drug detox center combines Christian spiritual practices with professional care to ease your concerns and help calm your fears.

The Drug Detox Process

Drug detox is the first step towards achieving a healthy, drug-free life. Once an individual enters A New Life Recovery Center, an assessment is conducted to determine if the patient has any other medical conditions or co-occurring psychological disorders. Once the drug detox program begins, patients will have 24-hour nursing or medical care. During this time, patients will cease using drugs, and as withdrawal symptoms appear, staff will administer treatments to alleviate or eliminate symptoms.

The average drug detox process lasts about four days, but can vary from patient to patient.  Likewise, the medications administered to manage withdrawal symptoms during detoxification can vary, depending on the substance of abuse and various other factors.
