Goals of Christian Detox Programs
Detox programs have two distinct goals; one being the management of withdrawal issues and the other determining a person's need for ongoing treatment. The management of withdrawal symptoms in detox programs has to do with the dispensing of medication, nutrition, rest and emotional support.
Each patient's need for medication in Christian detox programs is different. Patients have been using different drugs, with different frequency and amounts, for varying periods of time. As such, the physicians in the detox programs prescribe personalized detox protocols for each patient. This lends itself to the individualized care expected by each patient.
The vast majority of people requiring detox in a medical detoxification program will require ongoing inpatient addiction treatment program.
