Addiction is based on fear. It’s stronghold is your fear that you won’t be able to cope with your life without it. God wants to set you free from your fear so that you can step into your new life.
Addiction succeeds when it chains you to the bottle or the syringe that is filled with the regret and pain of the past. It destroys your peace, your creativity and your promise. But be encouraged, I submit to you do not be afraid. Psalm 23:4 says
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.”
